Taanishi,

Four years ago, I ran for Vice President of Metis Nation - Saskatchewan with a simple but powerful message: Growing Our Nation – Together. I was honoured that Métis citizens placed their trust in me — and since then, I’ve worked every day to earn that trust and deliver on the promise of building a stronger Nation.

Over the past four years, I’ve stood with Survivors, advanced our modern-day Treaty, and pushed for systems that support our families, our rights, and our future.

Now, I’m running for re-election — not to start something new, but to continue the good work we’ve already begun. This time, I’m moving forward with a new message for this next chapter: Strengthening Our Nation – Together.

I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished, and I know there’s still more to do. With your support, I’m ready to keep going.

Maarsi,

Michelle LeClair

Why I'm Running

"I’m running for re-election because there’s still important work to do. Over the past four years, we’ve made real progress — but building a strong, self-governing Métis Nation takes commitment, accountability, and time.

I believe in a government that reflects our people, our values, and our future. My priorities are focused on strengthening our communities, protecting our rights, and creating systems that support Métis families for generations to come.

See below to learn more about the pillars guiding my campaign and the work I’m committed to as your Vice President."

Local and Regional Governance

Strong governance begins at the local level. Vice President LeClair is committed to empowering Métis Locals and ensuring citizens have meaningful ways to participate in decision-making. By supporting our regional leaders and creating clear, accountable processes, we can build a government that truly reflects the voices of Métis people across the province.

Child and Family Services (CFS)

Every Métis child deserves to grow up connected to their family, culture, and community. Vice President LeClair is fighting for a CFS system that puts Métis families first — one that keeps children out of care, supports parents, and reflects our values. This work is about healing from past harms and creating a future where Métis families can thrive.

Métis Rights and Self-Government

Vice President LeClair has been a leading voice in advancing our modern-day Treaty, Kishchi Mashinaayikun Ooshchi Michif. She is committed to upholding our inherent right to self-government and ensuring that Métis laws, systems, and governance are recognized and respected. This is about more than negotiations — it’s about securing our future as a Nation.

Residential Schools

Justice for Survivors of the Ilé-à-la-Crosse Residential School remains one of Michelle’s deepest commitments. She continues to push for truth, recognition, and lasting accountability. This pillar is rooted in honouring Survivors, uplifting their stories, and ensuring no community is forgotten in our pursuit of reconciliation.
